REPORT TOPICS
What topics can I choose?
You need to choose one Resourcing topic and one Development topic. Use the Teaching and Learning Plan (TLP) and lecture/seminar content as a guide. Due to the word count, you may wish to focus on a specific area of one topic.
If you are unsure about your topic selection, please seek clarification from your lecture/seminar tutor, or by contacting the Module Tutor.
I am unsure if the topic I have picked relates to Resourcing or Development
Use the Teaching and Learning Plan (TLP) and lecture/seminar content as a guide. If you are still unsure please speak to your seminar tutor.
Do the two topics (Resourcing topic and Development topic) need to be interrelated?
All topics will be inter-related due to them all being Human Resources topics/functions. However, some topics will be more closely related than others. For example, considering talent management in recruitment (Resourcing topic) and talent as part of development (Development topic). It is not a requirement that you demonstrate the interrelation of the two topics. If you do decide to write about two related topics you may combine the introduction. However, you will need to ensure that the discussions regarding the Resourcing side and the Development side are balanced and distinct and meet the requirements set out in the marking rubric.
Do I have to cover all the topics in the report?
No. You should focus on one Resourcing topic and one Development Topic in the report. However, all topics should be reflected in the Infographic.
Do I need to reflect all aspects of my chosen topic in the report? E.g. All stages of the recruitment and selection process?
No. It would be very difficult to critically discuss all aspects of the topic within the given word count. Therefore you can narrow down the topic to a particular area or theory if you wish.
What do I write about regarding the report topics?
Each topic area should be critically analyzed in relation to the case study organization. You must consider how the case study organization operates in relation to this topic and relate this to the literature. In light of the academic literature, you should evaluate the approach of the case study organization. Your evaluation should lead to the report recommendations.
